ZOO BIRDS

Birds in captivity gives the viewer an amazing experience but at what cost!

We entered the Assam State Zoo at about 1p.m. It was a bright sunny day. We had a little trouble with the camera fees. One of our team mates was using a Video camera and had to pay some extra charges. I used my cell phone to shoot some candid images of birds...
We went to the zoo with our facilitator Mr Deb Sir, with his guidence. He guided us to take impressive photographs of the birds and the zoo environment.

This talking Macau is an interesting bird. It entertained the visitors with lot of sounds that it must have picked up.

The visitors were busy shooting the images of the bird with whatever gadgets they had.

Then we saw a white breasted kingfisher inside a cage. The zoological name this kingfisher is Halycon Smyrnensis. It is distinct in India, Pakistan, Iraq.

We took lot of photographs and noted the zoological names and other details from the show cards, about the birds we saw.
The birds were kept in cages with sufficient food and shelter.
