The cattle egret is a bird belonging to the family of ardeidae.It lives in Asia, Africa, the Americas and southern Europe, including south-central Italy. In recent years, the cattle egret has stopped and has expanded and nested in Northern Italy.The cattle egret has an average size about 25 - 30 cm . a white plumage and a short neck, a yellow beak, and gray legs. During the breeding season adults have a more colorful plumage with orange feathers on the top, with brown neck and back, beak and legs . Their plumage in winter is white with a yellow beak. It attends the wetlands but also the plowed fields, where often follows the tractor during processing. The colonies are usually composed of a dozen types of birds. The bird has a breeding group. Nest building takes place mostly on trees in forests that are special. It feeds on fish, amphibians and invertebrates, aquatic and terrestrial.
