A Visitor in my school! A Barn Owl.


This is a Barn Owl:- Zoological name is Tyto alba. It is pale, long winged , long legged owl and have a squarish tail. Its head and upper body is typically in between a light brown and a dark grey colour. Its has light face with its heart shape black eyes. This is a bird of open country such as farmland and grassland. It flies silently. Its breeding usually starts in late March to early April. The nest site is usually quite above the ground . Barn Owl are relatively common throught most of their range and not considerable globally threatened. The Brown Owl has acute hearing with ears placed asummtrically for improved detection of sound position and distance. It cannot see in the day light but see clearly at night. One morning this beautiful bird entered our Teachers'staff room of our school.
